Here is the process:
The first step is to contact us. You can call at 717-314-7647 or send an email to sales@everestmoving.com. If you prefer, you can submit info through our website here.
The second step is to plan your move and have us work up an estimate. In many cases, we will set up an appointment to come by and look at everything with you. We will discuss things like:
- What is the scope of what you would like us to handle? You might only be looking for help with a few pieces of furniture or you might be looking for a full-service move. If you need things dropped off at multiple locations like a family member’s home or a storage unit, we can make a plan for that. Just let us know what you need!
- What is the best schedule for the move? This might look like picking up in the morning and dropping off the same day, or it might require pick up and drop off on separate days depending on the volume and distance of the move. We can also discuss time constraints that you are under such as closing dates and access times.
- Do you have items that require special handling? The could include things like antiques, pianos, clocks, and other sensitive items. We have a lot of experience with these types of items and we can explain to you how we will go about moving them so that you can feel confident that they will be protected.
- What kind of labeling systems makes sense for the move? We can help you with a system that makes sense to everyone so that everything ends up where it belongs.
- Do you need help with downsizing, decluttering, packing, unpacking, etc? While we do not offer these services ourselves, we can connect you with good companies to handle all of that.
- Do you need storage for things that will not fit in your new home? Most retirement homes only offer a small storage locker in addition to your apartment. We have a climate-controlled facility where we can hold your things for as long or short as you need.
The third step is the actual moving day. Our crew will show up at a scheduled time in the morning. Typically, we will do a final walkthrough with you when we arrive to make sure we are taking all the right items. We will load everything up into our truck using moving pads to protect your furniture. At the new location, we will set up the furniture and get it positioned where you want it. If we need to move it a couple times to get it right for you, that is okay! We will get the boxes into the correct rooms to set things up for smooth unpacking.
One of the stressful things about moving day can be not knowing what kind of guys will show up. We emphasize two core values to our guys – competence and courtesy. Competence means being good at moving stuff. We recognize that the things you are taking to your new home are often your most valued possessions. We want to handle them with skill and care. Courtesy means treating you with respect. We emphasize a professional appearance and clean speech. We want you to feel happy about having us in your home.
