Street Pianos in Lancaster

We have been proud to partner with Music For Everyone (MFE) for the last couple years to promote music in the Lancaster area. Every year MFE places around a dozen painted pianos on the streets of Lancaster. The process goes like this. Mt. Everest spends most of the year collecting pianos and taking them to a warehouse where they are stored until they can be painted. In the spring, we deliver them to local artists where they are painted. Each artist uses his imagination, and some of their designs are pretty crazy! Here is an example of one that we moved recently:

After the artists are done, we put the pianos out on the streets for people to play. In all, we move each piano three or four times during this process. We can’t wait to help keep this tradition alive in 2016!
